Vitamins and Supplements for Erectile Health: What the Evidence Shows

⚖️ The Verdict

A handful of nutrients and plant extracts have real research connecting them to circulation and vascular function — the honest framing is 'may support' rather than 'will fix,' and results vary between studies and individuals.

Vitamins for erectile health is a broad, often oversimplified search term. There's no single vitamin that reliably "fixes" erectile function on its own, but several nutrients and plant compounds are genuinely studied for the vascular processes underneath it.

Nitric oxide precursors

L-Arginine, an amino acid, is a direct precursor to nitric oxide — the molecule responsible for relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow. Dietary nitrates, found concentrated in beet root, follow a related but separate pathway to the same end result: more available nitric oxide.

What the research shows: In a randomized, double-blind, crossover trial, concentrated beetroot juice improved flow-mediated dilation of the femoral artery in healthy older men within hours of consumption (Walker MA, et al. Nutrients. 2019).

Antioxidant support for blood vessels

Grape seed extract, rich in proanthocyanidins, has been studied for vascular endothelial function and blood pressure. The evidence is genuinely mixed — some trials show measurable blood pressure improvement, while flow-mediated dilation results have been inconsistent across studies.

Erection support supplement ingredients aren't interchangeable

An erection support supplement built around one ingredient is different from a multi-ingredient formula targeting several pathways (circulation, hormones, and stress) at once. Reading the actual label — not just the marketing claims — matters.
